The Secret of Rush Limbaugh’s Success

Rush Limbaugh is a conservative talk radio host in the United States with over 20,000,000 listeners a week, making his program the single most watched or listened to source of news in the USA. Not surprisingly, Rush Limbaugh is demonized by the mainstream media as a right-wing extremist. For his listeners, however, he is a breath of fresh air. One constant desire on the part of the Left in America is to come up with a counterpart, the liberal Rush Limbaugh. Attempts have been made on the Left to do this, but no one has succeeded. Yet on the Right, numerous radio talk show hosts have repeated Rush’s success (e.g., Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham). Why is this?

Anthropogenic Global Warming: Is there a consensus?

The mainstream media has pushed a certain agenda about global warming.  The reasons they have done this are worth discussing, but here I wish only to say that they have been dishonest with us.  Let me explain first what is meant by anthropogenic global warming, and then I will show explain why there is no consensus.

First, anthropogenic global warming is the theory that humankind, through the emissions of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, has contributed to the warming of the planet.  It is believed that these gases trap heat from the sun on the planet, much as a greenhouse traps heat from the sun.  Humans have indeed increased their emissions into the atmosphere of these greenhouse gases through the use of power plants, cars, factories and so forth, anything that uses carbon fuels such as petroleum, coal and natural gas.  They believe further that the eating of meat contributes to the problem, because cattle increases the amount of gases like methane and carbon dioxide too.  To people living in cities where fumes from cars and factories choke out their opportunity to breath fresh air, these conclusions may seem evident enough.

Obama and the Culture of Death?

Peter Dunn posted this quote from Miguel Guaniba in the American Thinker:

By Obama’s own reckoning, the heroic efforts of those who have bravely stood in defense of innocent human life in the womb — and long endured ridicule from the press for their dissenting views — have been reduced to nothing more than pointless efforts to engage in what is ultimately a “stale and fruitless debate”. The unimaginable grief and discord this issue has wrought upon countless lives and relationships at home and abroad have been reduced to nothing more than “petty grievances”. The devout religious convictions of those  who have nurtured an abiding compassion and unwavering fidelity to the fundamental principle that every human life is endowed with inviolable dignity and inestimable worth by the creator of all life, barely rise to the status of “worn out dogmas”.

With the magic stroke of his executive pen, Obama has declared his intentions that no ground will be given and no prisoners spared.

Dunn’s posting was intended to show how Miguel Guanipa “eloquently critiques Obama statements about his rescinding of the Bush abortions funding policy,” saying that ”Obama is not the unifier that his campaign claimed.” It is not my role to decide whether the president is successful in unifying his country. Rather I seize the opportunity to reflect on an issue in American Christianity that is troubling to me, that is, an apparent confusion between church life and politics. I wonder if as a church we are mistaken regarding the nature and means of our combat when it comes to abortion.

Double Standard AND Tax Evasion and Stealing (updated)

Elisee Ouoba wrote:

Obama and tax evaders:

It’s kind of funny and ironic that Obama’s secret revenue plan would be to appoint people who have failed to pay their taxes and then have them pay their outstanding bill. Funny because this would be, indeed, a way to help some rich people return what they have “stolen,” and ironic because that would mean that the non-payment of taxes is the reason for the economic/financial crisis and thus turn a problem into a solution.

I will respond to this in a new post as a opposed to the commentary section.

First, the approvals of Daschle and Geitner prove that there is a higher standard for Republicans than for Democrats.  Linda Chavez was forced to withdraw her nomination for far less serious grounds which the media and the Democrats played to the hilt.  The media even made numerous excuses for Geithner, because they feel it is their responsibility to support Obama’s presidency.  They are after all the reason he is president.
